Medco Health Solutions in Franklin Lakes, N.J., said Tuesday that nine clients have decided to co-brand its Medicare-approved prescription discount card program.
The New Jersey company is one of 28 Medicare-approved prescription discount card sponsors.
As part of the co-branding partnerships, Bankers Fidelity Life (a subsidiary of Atlantic American Corp.), Health Alliance Plan, FirstCarolinaCare Inc., Medical Mutual of Ohio, Nationwide Health Plans, NeighborCare Inc., Oxford Health Plans Inc., The Health Plan of the Upper Ohio Valley Inc., and WPS Health Insurance will offer Medco's prescription discount card to their customers and other Medicare beneficiaries in their respective markets.
The co-branded cards will give Medicare beneficiaries access to discounts ranging up to more than 30% on virtually all branded and generic prescription medications on a list approved as eligible for coverage by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS.
Registration for the co-branded prescription discount cards will open May 3. Medicare beneficiaries can enroll by mail, through Medco's toll-free hotline, or online.
On March 25, CMS approved Medco as a prescription discount card sponsor. In addition to the co-branding partnerships, Medco said, it plans to market the Preferred Prescription Discount Card Program nationwide and will administer several of its clients' Medicare-approved discount card offerings.
